Professional Bio

A.J Martinez is constantly enmeshed in both the realms of education and pop culture.

Currently pursuing an Information Science degree with a focus on school libraries at the University at Albany, A.J. also plays a pivotal role as Library Support Staff at a high school in Upstate NY. Their boundless passion for pop culture has earned them recognition from ReedPop and DC Comics, for bringing to life iconic characters to life through cosplay. A.J. doesn’t stop at costuming, they also have a deep-rooted love for all things nerdy’ including comic books, graphic novels, and manga.

Their pop culture journey was highlighted by a feature on AMC’s “Comic Book Men,” reaffirming their belief in the power of pop culture to connect people and spark meaningful conversations.
